Hollister Ranch and Tunzi Ranch
Both the Hollister Ranch and Tunzi Ranch have NTMPs dated back to the early 1990s; each have logged, thinned and planted, even decades before then. Given both landowners live and work on their properties, they will show good examples of active forest management. More details of their operations will be available in the registration flyer when available.
One of the Field Day Committee members commented that this Field Day will be an example of pre-1977 treatment of timberlands, ala wholesale removal of redwoods and conversion to other uses coupled with classic natural re-establishment of redwoods and recovery to productive timberlands in the post-1977 TPZ era.
FLC Members - $30 per person

What To Wear
Comfortable covered toe shoes suitable for the terrain are recommended. Weather will be favorable but wearing layers is a good plan.
Where We Will Meet
We will meet at the Comptche Community Hall (more details and directions to follow) at 9:00am to check in and depart for the Hollister Ranch around 9:30am. The second half of the day will be spent at the Tunzi Ranch, starting around 12:00pm with a BBQ lunch.
Please bring a 4-wheel drive vehicle if possible.
Registration Information - Flyer Available Soon
We are working on the registration flyer, which will be available within the next two weeks.
We have compiled a list of hotels/motels, etc., in the Fort Bragg area. Given the time of year, many hotels sell out. We recommend securing overnight accommodations as soon as possible.
